Young artists who join the Summer at Sem Theatre program will discover acting, movement, and vocal skills, and receive individual attention and performance coaching. Our thoughtfully designed intensive allows students to develop their stage skills and technique while working as a collaborative ensemble.

All Theatre students will have multiple chances to work individually with our Director of Theatre and Music Director on acting, vocal performance, and movement. Tailor-made curriculum offers participants of all backgrounds and experience levels an opportunity to engage in their craft, both on stage and off. Students will also take masterclasses at least once a week in a wide variety of specialty subjects from Guest Artists currently working in the professional theatre industry. Performance opportunities showcase students in our state-of-the-art spaces and on our beautiful campus. Performance opportunities include musical theatre excerpts, Shakespeare monologues and scenes, pop/rock songs, original and devised work, and fully produced musicals.

Theatre Video Submissions

Requirements

  • Campers should submit a VIDEO SUBMISSION

Please submit one monologue from an American play or musical, and one musical excerpt with accompaniment each about one minute in length. Pop/Rock or Jazz Standards are fine, if you prefer. Choose something that you enjoy performing, and that you think showcases your strengths as a singer/actor! We ask that you refrain from submitting a cappella singing.

Video submissions are not “auditions” in the traditional sense, and have no influence on casting in the musical production. They are used to give the director and faculty an idea of your performance skills and training so far in order to help them tailor the curriculum for the performers attending each year. Try not to stress – have fun with it!

Please see GUIDELINES for more details.

Submit your video though your CampInTouch account under the Documents/Forms tab.

  • In addition to the video, campers must also submit a completed online application.
