Mission & Motto
Mission & Motto
Within an exponentially changing world, Wyoming Seminary dates to teach our students to honor and strive for the true, the beautiful, and the good.
Wyoming Seminary’s school motto, “Verum, Pulchrum, Bonum,” not only served as the guiding spirit of Wyoming Seminary in 1844 but remains the words by which we live today.
Summer at Sem continues the Mission and Motto of Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School.
As an independent college preparatory school, Wyoming Seminary seeks to create active learners, responsible citizens, community leaders, and ethical individuals ready to take their place in the global community of the 21st century.
True to our traditions and our values, Wyoming Seminary is committed to supporting promising students from varied backgrounds.
Our curriculum emphasizes competition and collaboration, critical thinking and creativity, self-respect and respect for others.
We challenge our students to discover their talents and their passions by offering an integrated program rich in artistic, athletic, and extracurricular opportunities that complement the schools core commitment to academic excellence, personal integrity, spiritual growth, and community service.
It is unquestionably true, beautiful, and good that the world is made up of diverse people. Wyoming Seminary strives to build a learning environment that reflects the disparate cultures, religions, languages, backgrounds, identities, and perspectives of our world. To that end, our school seeks to encourage the application of students and the hiring of faculty, staff, and administrators who represent diversity. Sustaining and nurturing such a community is an ongoing process, and we will continue to foster the respect, empathy, and curiosity that allow it to flourish.
