Arts & Activism

6:00 pm

If art imitates life and vice-versa, can art really be used to initiate social change? Theatre-makers and ground-shakers from a variety of disciplines, backgrounds, and generations define artistic activism, speak about their personal and creative philosophies, and share experiences that galvanized and radicalized them. This panel will get real about what the arts can DO with how they make us feel. (Recommended for ages 13+. There will be topics up for discussion that some may consider "adult.") Lily Ali-Oshatz - "Theatre maker invested in creating radical new musicals, her work explores queerness, feminism, and heartbreak. Lily seeks to build consent culture and dismantle systems of oppression." Janmariz - Mental Health Advocate & Creative, Human Development Major, Education and Theatre Minor (Binghamton University freshman)
