Why choose the Summer at Sem Theatre Program?

Masterclass Series

Masterclasses will take place twice daily for 90 minutes each and will focus on a variety of topics taught by the Summer at Sem Theatre faculty.

Acting Methods

Learn the basics of acting, including use of imagination, given circumstances, character, and text analysis to fully bring a performance to life in rehearsal and on stage.

Auditioning

Discover tips on how to select the perfect audition materials. Learn how to prepare and rehearse them for both professional and college auditions. Begin building your own audition package!

Business of Musical Theatre

Want to know what goes on behind the curtain? This masterclass explores every aspect of working in professional commercial musical theatre from investigating directing, producing, stage managing, music directing, choreography, and more!

Musical Theatre History and Literature

It is important to know the history of your art form. Study major works (and individuals!) throughout the history of musical theatre.

Shakespeare

A true theatre artist is dynamic. This masterclass serves as an introduction to understanding and performing Shakespeare with a particular emphasis on text.

Broadway Q&A Sessions

An exclusive opportunity!

Actors, composers, directors, stage managers, casting agents, and other industry professionals will be interviewed by our Director of Theatre with time for questions from Summer at Sem Theatre students.

One on One Coaching and Instruction
